I will stamp all over 'serious fighter' Jake Paul - Anthony Joshua

Anthony Joshua and Jake Paul face-off

The British boxer prepares to battle the American YouTuber in an eight-bout match which will be broadcast in real-time on the streaming platform.

British boxer Anthony Joshua said he will "overwhelm entirely" the American and "overpower" his opponent as the combatants confronted each other to build hype for the upcoming heavyweight fight.

Former two-time unified boxing king Anthony Joshua faces social media star turned fighter Jake Paul - in what is, by the numbers, a huge disparity - at Miami Kaseya Center on 19 December.

Boxer's Attitude

"I will break his face and hurt his body. I'm here to prove I'm the better fighter," the British boxer, 35, stated.

"I'll stamp all over him. That's the boxer's mindset.

"I'm going to seriously aim to injure him. That's what I want to do."

Respectful Exchange

In spite of these statements, a relaxed Joshua and social media star Paul - usually famous for his dramatics - shared friendly words and maintained decorum with each other.

Jake Paul instead targeted ex Joshua opponent Francis Ngannou and called him "not serious" after the Cameroonian rejected a bout proposal.

Targeting Fury

Anthony Joshua, meanwhile, took aim at British opponent Fury - and rejected a large bet 'The Gypsy King' states he will put on a victory for Paul.

"[Paul] outshines Tyson Fury - he showed up," Joshua commented.

"I respect him for that."

Legitimate Opponent

In spite of stating he plans to punish Paul, Anthony Joshua declined to speak negatively about his opponent's fighting skills.

"Jake Paul is a credible opponent," he remarked.

Paul's History

Jake Paul - who initially became famous on the Disney Channel - has mostly fought mixed martial artists or faded names since turning professional.

He was defeated by Briton Fury in 2023.

Financial Success

Still, the novice continues to be one of the sport's greatest commercial attractions, frequently receiving substantial earnings.

Prediction and Confidence

The 28 year old predicted a stoppage in round four or five and claimed he would stop the long-awaited match between Joshua and Fury, which is apparently being planned for 2026.

"The next fight will be me versus Tyson Fury next year," Jake Paul declared.

Size Disparity

As both boxers participated in the customary confrontation, with their physical disparity on show, it emphasized just how surprising this whole event is - and how remarkable it is that the fight is really going ahead.
